Born on October 18, 1949 in Lucerne and raised in Emmenbrücke, I graduated from the Lucerne Cantonal School in 1970. I studied modern general history, German studies and journalism in Bern and Berlin. During my studies and afterwards I worked as a freelance journalist for Lucerne daily and regional newspapers and completed academic assignments. Doctorate in 1985 in Bern.
